I'm coming Singapore!!!

Too busy packing lately. I'll be going home in 2 weeks.
Mixed feeling of anticipation and reluctance. Mountain Home may be dull and quiet, but I know I will soon miss the peacefulness, the shopping, and visits from friends just across the street. On the other hand, Singapore denotes overcrowding, kaisu-ness and competition. Haiz... I am already searching for the best chinese enrichment class for the girls. But of cos, I can't wait to eat my favourite Hor Fun and Chay Kuay Teow!

Would u buy these from me?

Attempted some DIY hair clips, and have started selling them on ebay. I was really happy when this lady who bought some of my clips from yard sale contacted me again to come over my house to get more clips. She even introduced her friend over too. It feels great when people like the stuff that I make!

Love the pictures I saw here.

Inspired to start making some felt hair clips for my gals.

Adopted from Giddy Giddy

How can you not be inspired?

I realize that being a mum has changed me--only recently--to want to try out new stuff. New food, DIY. I love the change.

Going home earlier than expected, probably mid-June. Have been too busy studying, and now I regretted not going to many places just within Idaho. Got to start a shopping list too. I'm glad that I have attained all As for my classes, just one more to go and I need to brainstorm on a topic for my research paper. No idea yet, but sure enough, I gotta finish it before I'm back.

Holding a yard sale at Michelle's house tmr, hopefully I'll make some money out of the junk that I've got. I'm going to miss yard sale...

Enormous strawberries & Pancake Nite

The biggest strawberries I've ever seen!

They are even bigger than the kiwi fruit!

Today the base primary organized a pancake nite, with story reading in the classrooms. Rachelle is one lucky girl, won a bag of goodies from the lucky draw. I love how the base always organize fun events for bored folks like us.

Before the tarts are cooked, after egg wash. Perfectly shaped cos I weighed every single dough and spent 3 hours shaping them. Finally gave up and made the circle ones, which are actually more tasty cos they have less flour and more filling.

After product-- they all look different in the end!

Phew... finally made the pineapple tarts that has been on my to-do list since b4 CNY! But now I'm only left with 10 in less than 24 hours! Not that we gobbled them all up, but I gave some to Michelle (so grateful to her for making all the cornflakes cookies and bee hive/rose), Suhui and Florence (who gave me the pineapple filling) and two Japanese friends, Miyuka and Tamami who really loved the pineapple tarts when they came over to visit today. Also, I have made three pandan chiffon cakes since last Friday, going to be chiffon cake pro soon. I'm so proud of myself! =) Another two more on Sunday to Michelle's place for her CNY gathering.

Next mouthwatering recipes I wanna try out is spiral curry puff and Portuguese egg tart from Rasa Malaysia! I am a total fan of her blog!

Another ski trip at Soldier Mountain. After so much practice, I'm still just a intermediate beginner who knows how to do the S down a gentle slope.

I simply despise gamblers, not those who play cards or mahjong to entertain friends but I mean those who go to the casinos and just spend all their hard-earned money there. They forget about their responsibilities, in exchange for quick bucks (but 99% of the times they end up blaming on their luck). They can lose a few k, and yet go to the atm and withdraw more cash, even though it may be borrowed money, or money they need to survive for the next three months.

I have seen too many of such cases. Here, or in Arizona, guys who forgot about their families and wives waiting for them, or singles who are addicted to gambling. I can still remember vividly the image of my mum, driving really cautiously (she don't really drive) with me sitting on the passenger's seat, to look for my dad who was playing mahjong. The anxiety displayed on her face. I may be four or five, but the memory remained etched on my mind, reminding me of the banes of gambling. Ironically, I was told the first word I learnt to speak is fei, the joker in the mahjong tiles. Cos since young, I have been tagging along with my dad to his mahjong session.

I have to admit I'm an avid shopper. Everyday without fail, my routine is to check slickdeals.net for great deals. But seriously, I feel that I would rather spend the money buying stuff than gambling them away. Therefore, I would never ever forgive anyone who gambles excessively and I would never ever borrow money to such gamblers.

P.S. Lesson learnt: Don't ever borrow money from me if you are a gambler.
